Burst

Last week I wrote a post about imagination and making dreams come true.

This week I've finally realised that dreams and imagination are a result of initiation. Everything has moved in such an amazingly fast and lovely pace that I cant help but wonder where I started and began. I also can't help but think :

I have finally found a "A quote," that's beginning to reveal itself in most areas of my life, courtesy The Beatles :

"The love you take is equal to the love you make"

This has all coincided with the creation of "Illustration Much," an illustration studio of sorts started by four os us - Me and three of my closest friends from college.

We launched Illustration Much at Kitsch Mandi this weekend - It's a popular flea market in my lovely home city of Bangalore. The responses and the love we received was immense! And we're so happy to continue putting out more work in the future.

Please share the love :)
And don't forget to like our page on Facebook

Featured in Kyoorius Magazine!

Last week I received my copy of Kyoorius magazine, and the best part?
I've been featured in it!

Kyoorius is one of India’s leading publications in the field of design and illustration, showcasing great talent.
Getting featured in Kyoorius is a dream come true, and makes all this seem so worthwhile everyday. To be amongst the likes of Rebecca Chew, Rahul Gaikwad and so many more talented illustrators was the best post birthday present I could have ever received!

Thank you so much to Bindu Nair, editor at Kyoorius for making this happen. And above all, Kyoorius, for doing what they do for designers, illustrators and students.

Faded

Sometimes getting caught up in a regular life makes you forget the beauty of what you're doing and why you're doing it.Worrying about money and time is an every day thing occurrence in my life, and then I update my blog and I've realised that the beauty of what really matters has certainly faded away.

Must note, every day - The beauty of art and people. And maybe the beauty of things I don't like very much!

Share.Inspire.

To my dear blog

To my dear blog (Wander Dust,is that your name?I'm really not sure),
It's 3:30 am and as usual, I can't really sleep. So I decided to check you out.I also thought I'd look at my blogger profile which says that you've been active since August 2006.Wow.
I don't know why I started you.But it happened anyways.I was a 16 year old kid messing around with photoshop and I really liked what I was coming up with.At the time.I don't really approve of my work then now but that isn't really suprising now is it?
When people ask me why I started a blog I'd like to tell them it's because I really want to know what people think of my work. But the truth is, I'm still and will probably always be very shy when it comes to putting my work out there. The reason I started this blog was to record my work and in the process unknowingly, record my life.
When I go back 6 pages or 2 years on this blog and I look at my work I can come up with a whole story about what urged me to think up what I did then. And I guess thats the beauty of it.
Steve Jobs died yesterday. And I came across a quote of his about loving what you do.It was about how you should believe that the work you're doing at the present moment is truly great work. How this belief will only get better as life goes on.It meant alot to me,because I love what I do.
But let's face it.I go through so many phases.I don't know where I'll be next year, and if I do end up studying curation and art history I only hope I have the courage to pull through. And that courage has certainly come from this blog.Alot of the good things that have happened in my professional life have happened because of this blog. The lovely comments. The lovely people leaving those comments. It's all good.
  Thank you :)
So if I do choose Tumblr or Wordpress to start my writing blog don't be mad.Just be glad I finally got the courage to write!

Love,
Taaneya.

Seeing

The truth is-We don't beleive it until we see it.
Our mistakes.Our choices.

I'm at an odd place in my life.I'm almost 19,on the verge of escaping, only to travel far away or stay close but be somewhere different.

I'm scared. Not confused.Hopeful.I'm an expert at organizing this life and suddenly i can't.
I know there's somewhere and someone I'll get to be.

As you are

I read somewhere that everybody on this planet is separated by only six other people. Six degrees of separation between us and everyone else on this planet. The President of the United States, a gondolier in Venice, just fill in the names. I find it A) extremely comforting that we're so close, and B) like Chinese water torture that we're so close because you have to find the right six people to make the right connection... I am bound to everyone on this planet by a trail of six people
--John Guares,"Six Degrees of separation"
A man,God,an angel and twisted words. We are all on an average of six steps away from eachother.

Scatter waves and the rest

Cracked eggs, dead birds Scream as they fight for life I can feel death, can see it's beady eyes All these things into position All these things we'll one day swallow whole And fade out again and fade out again Immerse your soul in love. Immerse your soul in love.

Ten lit windows

Ten lit windows.

One's a cloud.The other's a park.

The others are dreams.Unsought.

Between the sky and the earth

Them their eyes

The music stopped in my hand
my hand
my hand
Sadly smiled the band
the band
the band
Softly echoes your laughter
riddled with tears
When time is stolen it flies
it flies
it flies

When our mountains seemed to fall..

When I come to terms to terms with this
My world will change for me
I haven't moved since the Call came
Since the Call came I haven't moved..

Take another piece of my good graces
I'm in my war you're in yours
Do we fight for peace as they take another piece of us*
